These days, competition for jobs is fierce. Not only that, but usually the better the job, the stronger the competition.
You may not be aware that lots of people use professional CV writers to help boost their odds. And just because you don't use one, it doesn't necessarily mean that all your competitors will follow suit. Indeed, if you are targeting good jobs then it is fairly likely that at least some of the people you are competing against will have had professional help with their CV.
